By car – The connection between the rest of Italy and Sicily is assured by a ferries service and hydroplanes that from Reggio Calabria or Villa S. Giovanni reaches Messina, up to when the bridge of the strait won't be realized. The ticket includes already the transport by sea.

By airplane - The two principal Italian air companies that allow connections with Sicily are Alitalia that has its travel agencies and offices in all the Italian cities, and Air Sicilia which it has central centerin Palermo, in 180 Sciuti Street Tel. 091/6250566. other offices are found near the airports in Palermo Tel. 091/218887; Lampedusa Tel. 0922/971996; Pantelleria Tel. 0923/912213;Trapani Tel. 0923/841423. Airports - Sicily have two principal airports. In Palermo, Punta raisi Airport i (now entitled to Falcone and Borsellino) it is the greatest and have the best services and it's 30 kms far from the city to which is connected through a service bus that brings thin in Politeama Square. If it's by car, from the city you can take the ring road (V.le Region Sicilian) that it is directly introduced on the highway that leads to Punta Raisi airport. The other important airport is that of Catania, Fontanarossa, near to the city.It's the easier connection for the one who wants to reachthe west coast favorite destinations as:Taormina and Syracuse, the south coast with Ragusa and Gela or the center of the island ( Piazza Armerina ). Her Bus lines Etna Transports effect connections among Catania and Gela, Licata, Piazza Armerina Ragusa, Taormina and Valguarnera. Another useful airport, even if not in Sicily, it is that of Reggio Calabria, near to Messina strait. Who wants to reach Taormina with the public ways of transport, arrive with the bus both to Catania airport and in the Reggio Calabria one. The other Sicilian airports are that of Trapani, that doesn't allow regular and frequent connections and those of Pantelleria and Lampedusa, extremely important for the only destination to be reached are really these two islands. During the summer it effects directed connections the principal Italian cities. In Bus : SAIS effects connections from Rome to Messina (P.zza Repubblica), Catania(D'amico Street) and Caltanissetta (d'amico Street).
