Very close to Marsala is the most archeological island of the Stagnone. In its archipelago are found the islands of Santa Maria and Isola Longa.
Mozia can be reached by small boats from the mainland . In times past Mozia vas tied to the coast by an underwater street that could be crossed by mules and wagons. It can still be seen at low tide. On the island, that measures 40 hectars , in a typical mediterranian vegetation , have been found in various expeditions , archeological remains from different ages , in part saved in a small but suggestive museum.
